The successful aquisition of funds for research projects is a major requirement for the TZI. On the one hand this is getting external investment funds for the use in high technologies to Bremen which consolidates the state?s sustained positioning as a high-tech business location. On the other hand these funds finance the significant part of researchers at the TZI who find the basis for their own further qualifications in ambitious research projects. This directly counters the much discussed skills shortage in the ICT-sector and therefore contributes to increasing the appeal and the innovative ability of the location.
