Research Interests
My research interests are in both the fields of human-machine interfaces (physical interface devices / HCI) and wearable / mobile computing. I'm particularly interested in developing and designing Input-Output devices for wearable computing solutions, be it for work-assistance-systems, gaming or remote-control purposes.
My aim is to find new, innovative and most important unobstrusive and versatile solutions for wearable HCI devices.
A field of research that fascinates me is in the field of ubiquituous computing, concerning networked embedded devices and smart furniture, as well as robotics, though my interest with robotics is related to the mechanical aspect of mobile and autonomuous robots.
Other Interests
Though - currently - not an aspect of my work, I have a number of other interests and hobbies, ranging from digital photography, woodcarving, carpentery, boardgames and making jewellry from amber, crystals, corals and quarz to hiking, biking and remote control toys.
Furthermore, though I consider it sometimes unsuiting to call it "Interest" rather than "worried concerns" or "having a hopeful view on", I am 'interested' in civil liberties, genetic research, ecology, wildlife and the impact of technology on society.
